Gaisce Overnights
We regularly host school groups who wish to complete the hiking part of the Gaisce Bronze Award. We have a number of tried and tested hiking routes which we can advise you on. Usually groups will spread the distance over two days with one overnight spent in our Lodge hostel style self catering accommodation. This hike will usually include a trip to Marlogue Woods Coilte Forest trails, 30 – 40 mins hike from Cuskinny
And also a hike to:
The Historic Maritime Town of Cobh , Titanics last port of call, visitor attactions, historic tours, museum, Cobh Cathedral, shops, trains to Cork city, Fota Island and Midleton
Should you wish to also include acivities to your visit
- Cork Harbour Boat Hire Self Drive boats & high speed Rib tours
- Fota Wildlife Park accesible by train from Cobh
- Spike Island accesible by ferry from Cobh
- Groups usually spend the evening singing songs and toasting marshmallows around a campfire in our covered Pagoda.

“We had a brilliant experience here for our Gaisce trip. The facilities are excellent, the staff are genuinely wonderful and so helpful, and the accommodation was very comfortable for both students and staff. The kitchen facilities were excellent to cook a meal for all our students in the evening and this followed a lovely campfire outside after a long hard day of hiking.
