Sow and Grow

Sow and grow takes place in our historic walled gardens where we have a working market garden where we grow a variety of vegetables for the table and for sale at our honesty stall.  This hands-on activity gives participants a introduction to our very simple methods of growing.  We don’t use any chemicals in our garden and use the no-dig system to maximise soil health to grow healthy nutritious food.

Covered in the workshop is: Compost and insect identification, building soil, sowing seeds, bed preparation, planting out seedlings, vegetable identification.

This activity can be tailored for younger and older groups.  We can also incorporate this activity in Corporate days.
